Belt Requirements

Nexus Kenpo Karate teaches the complete Tracy’s System of Kenpo Karate Curriculum. Thirty self-defense techniques are required for each belt. With the exception of Yellow Belt which has ten techniques. On average, two new techniques are taught during each lesson.
Two forms* are required for each colored belt. With the exception of Yellow Belt which has no forms requirements. Approximately 3-4 months of once a week one-on-one personal instruction are needed to cover all the material for each colored belt. Belts are acquired in the following order:

Yellow
Orange
Purple
Blue
Green
Brown 3rd Degree
Brown 2nd Degree
Brown 1st Degree
Black 1st Degree

Black 2nd Degree

When the student is ready to test for a belt there is never a test fee.

Diplomas are issued from Tracy’s System of Kenpo World Headquarters. A student uniform or Gi is issued free of charge when the student signs up for either the Green Belt or Black Belt program. As the student advances through the ranks, replacement colored belts are issued free of charge.

NO CONTRACTS REQUIRED.

Each student will advance at their on rate. Students may advance as far as they desire. Students are not required to advance to a predetermined Belt.

*Forms or katas are prearranged, choreographed groups of self-defense techniques performed in a dance-like manner. Practicing forms develops proper breathing, focus, and internal/external power or chi.
