Belt
Requirements
Nexus Kenpo Karate teaches the complete Tracys
System of Kenpo Karate Curriculum. Thirty self-defense techniques
are required for each belt. With the exception of Yellow Belt
which has ten techniques. On average, two new techniques
are taught during each lesson. Two
forms* are required for each colored belt. With the exception
of Yellow Belt which has no forms requirements. Approximately
3-4 months of once a week one-on-one personal instruction
are needed to cover all the material for each colored belt.
Belts are acquired in the following order:
Yellow
Orange
Purple
Blue
Green
Brown
3rd Degree
Brown
2nd Degree
Brown
1st Degree
Black
1st Degree
Black 2nd Degree
When
the student is ready to test for a belt there is never a test
fee.
Diplomas
are issued from Tracys System of Kenpo World Headquarters.
A student uniform or Gi is issued free of charge when the
student signs up for either the Green Belt or Black Belt program.
As the student advances through the ranks, replacement colored
belts are issued free of charge.
NO CONTRACTS REQUIRED.
Each student will advance at their on rate.
Students may advance as far as they desire. Students are not
required to advance to a predetermined Belt.
*Forms
or katas are prearranged, choreographed groups of self-defense
techniques performed in a dance-like manner. Practicing forms
develops proper breathing, focus, and internal/external power
or chi.
